Central Hospital of Chongqing Three Gorges was founded in 1929. It was renamed Wanxian People's Hospital in 1951, Wanxian People's Hospital in 1979, Wanxian City Central People's Hospital in 1993 and Chongqing Three Gorges Central Hospital in 1998. After more than 80 years of development, it has become a large-scale comprehensive tertiary-class A hospital which integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and health care. It radiates Chongqing, Hubei, Sichuan and Shaanxi and undertakes the public medical treatment task in 23 districts and counties around it. The annual outpatient service volume is 2.3512 million, the annual discharge number is 82,000, and the annual operating table is 32,400. It is the first district-level hospital in China to pass the re-evaluation and inspection of the new 3A. It has successfully obtained the qualification of the national drug clinical trial institution, and has more than 110 honors at or above the provincial level, such as "National Civilized Unit", "National Top 100 Hospitals" and "Advanced Collective of National Health System".
The hospital covers an area of 431 mu, with a building area of 500 thousand and 700 square meters (including construction and planning area).
